1997 FLSTS Heritage Springer - Harley-Davidson
Collector Edition
In 1997 the Heritage Springer was produced to
replace the Heritage Softail. The 1997 to 1999
model had a 5-speed transmission Evolution motor
with a closed primary chaincase. The Evolution
motor used a dual fire ignition to start both
cylinders together even though one piston wouldn't
run at optimal stroke. The gasoline tanks were
split with a 4.2 gallon capacity.
