1940 FordŽ 'Hot Date' Convertible - When They Wanted to Get to 'Heaven' This Is The Car They Rode In! It Features Full Operating Parts, Die-Struck Logos & Factory Baked Enamel Finish. They called it 'Eden on Wheels'. Here is the dream - car of the Big Band Era, the 1940 FordŽ V-8 Runabout Roadster, motoring's 'Hall of Fame' classic. Every last intricate component is finely detailed in precise scale-ratio: the distinctive 1940 FordŽ solid chrome V-8 nose grille, the lift-up hood and fold-down rumble seat, the double-beam headlights, the twin running boards, working rubber-tire wheels, all showroom perfect as if it just rolled off the assembly line. Raise the hood and peer inside. You can almost sense this miniature V-8 power-packed engine roar to life

The Returning Servicemen Demanded Something New - During WWII, Bob Gregorie, FordŽ's design chief, was frustrated watching Willy's Jeeps roll off the FordŽ assembly line while production of civilian cars was curtailed. In 1946 the returning serviceman came marching home and the public was bored with the pre-war models available. With time for only one new model, Henry FordŽ II gave Gregorie approval to move ahead on one of his dream cars, the Sportsman. With a price tag that was the FordŽ's highest up to then, just under $2000, only 723 were sold but the Sportsman proved to be a great showroom traffic builder. Today, only 20 of these certified Milestone Cars still exist, worth over $70,000 in good condition. Amazingly Detailed and Accurate Reproduction - This 1:18 scale replica not only faithfully follows the original FordŽ specifications, but also has features you often don't get on replicas that charge twice the price. The convertible top and interior seats are all fabric; real wood is used on the sides and trunk: and there's even a spare tire in the trunk. The actual '46 Sportsman, called FordŽ's most distinctive body style ever, never looked better in showrooms across America than this amazing reproduction will look displayed in your home

GI Joe In a Buying Mood - 1948 started out with many question marks for the FordŽ Motor Company. Eight months earlier, its founder and inspiration, Henry FordŽ, had passed away. The combination of the Great Depression in the 30s and WWII in the 40s, had made FordŽ's financial situation shaky. Add these to a 1948 product line that had very few changes from the previous year as FordŽ had put all their efforts into the completely restyled 1949 line, and you can imagine how worried the auto executives were during this time. But the US economy and consumers came to FordŽ's rescue. The Post-War boom had begun and the demand for cars was greater than ever. By mid-year, FordŽ had topped their 1947 production and actually switched to producing the new 1949 line. This 1:18 scale precision die-cast replica of the Super Deluxe Convertible, the only convertible in FordŽ's 1948 line, features opening doors, hood, trunk, working steering system, folding leather-look front seats and an eye-popping dark green factory baked-enamel finish. It looks every bit as good as they did rolling off the FordŽ assembly line over 50 years ago

The Car That Saved Ford- New Bathtub Design Stops FordŽ From Going Down The Drain - Henry FordŽ II took over an ailing company from his grandfather in 1945. By 1948, things were looking even worse. Lagging sales caused by designs that hadn't changed since before WWII had placed FordŽ on the edge of bankruptcy. A new design team led by George Walker and Engineering VP Harold Youngreen then came up with a radical new design that proved to be just what America wanted. The new 'bathtub' design featured an integrated body and fender that, along with the 'slab sides' gave these cars a sleek continuous line. This design won FordŽ the prestigious Fashion Academy Award 'Car of the Year'. 'Hotchkiss Drive', a smoother ride made possible by flexible new rear springs, 'Magic Action' king-size brakes and 'Picture- Window' visibility, also enhanced performance. FordŽ became, once again, the #1 selling car in America. Mercury had its best year to date, finishing in 6th place in sales. With sales doubled over 1948, FordŽ was out of trouble and once again America's car

1951 FordŽ Pepsi-Cola Delivery Truck - Rolling Billboards Deliver Pepsi's Message - The 1950's provided a major challenge for the Pepsi-Cola company. Now that the war was over, America was getting back to normal movies, baseball, and hot dogs rather then newsreels, fatigues, and spam. A more prosperous era was beginning and Pepsi's image of 'twice as much for the same nickel' was out of date. Pepsi's advertising agency came up with a slogan 'More Bounce to the Ounce' featuring a young woman with up to date hair style and clothes. In this era before television was a staple in every home, there was no better way to get the message to the public then using their fleet of 'moving billboards'- the FordŽ Delivery Truck. Officially Licensed with Historically Accurate Logos, this 1:25 scale 1951 FordŽ box delivery truck uses authentic graphics from Pepsi's early 1950s ad campaigns. It also features opening front and rear doors, hand painted tail and marker lights, double rear tires, and even windows that are half rolled down. It is a precision die-cast replica that is a must for any collector of truck or Pepsi Memorabilia

You Can Pay More, But You Can't Buy Better - FordŽ truck advertising in the early 1950s used this slogan to point out to the consumers the quality of their product, even though they usually were priced below the competition. With the famous FordŽ performance and reliability, these trucks became Pepsi-Cola's logical choice to deliver America's favorite soft drink. With their impressive V-8 100 horsepower engine and new aggressive styling, the 1951 line of FordŽ trucks set the standard for looks and performance. Designed to Pepsi-Cola's Original Specifications, this 1:25 scale 1951 FordŽ truck uses the actual Pepsi logos and billboards from that era. From the famous script 'Pepsi-Cola' to the jolly drawing of Santa himself, naturally holding his favorite soft drink, this precision die-cast replica is a natural for any collection. Whether displayed under the tree, on a mantel, or in a display case, nothing will better bring back the nostalgic feel of Christmas in the early 1950s
