Rolls Royce Silver Ghost
The Original Silver Ghost - 1907 Rolls-Royce
Open Drive Limousine
Franklin Mint Precision Model
Excellence, Quality, Luxury
In 1906 Henry Royce wanted to replace his Model
30 with a smoother, quieter car. Model 40/50,
offered as an Open Drive Limousine, was so popular
it was the only style offered by Rolls-Royce for
20 years. Royce's success in achieving his goals
resulted in the 40/50 quickly being nicknamed
the "Silver Ghost".
We are doubly excited to present this remarkable
1:24 scale 1907 Rolls-Royce. First, because it
marks the beginning of what we feel will be an
incredible partnership between the National Motor
Museum Mint and the Franklin Mint, producers of
the finest 1:24 scale die-cast replicas being
made today. Second, because we are able to offer
our collectors this exciting Rolls-Royce.
Precision Engineered to Actual Rolls-Royce Specifications
Truly a car for the classes, not for the masses,
the 1907 Silver Cloud cost almost $5000, about
10 times what the average professional made at
that time. This replica was created from the oldest
surviving Silver Cloud originally made for financier
Arthur Briggs who helped finance Royce's company.
It is so detailed and perfect it even comes with
lint-free white gloves to handle it. Like Rolls-Royce
itself, this $135 masterpiece is not for everyone
but is certain to be the most elegant, detailed
replica for all who can afford it.
